Hot and adverse weather policy
As we are all aware, England weather is mostly mild however in recent years weather conditions have become more extreme both in the winter and in the summer. We appreciate that the weather is something we cannot change and that it may be frustrating that your pet is not receiving the walk they usually get however this policy is in place in order to prevent any serious harm coming to your beloved pets. Extreme weather can be very dangerous for your animals and we do not want to put any pets at any unnecessary risk. Due to this we have introduced our hot and adverse weather policy as below;
1) If the temperature reaches above 20 degrees Celsius no brachycephalic dogs such as French Bulldogs, Pugs, Bulldogs, Mastiffs etc will be walked for more than 30 minutes and will only be walked where there is shade and/or a running water source.
2) Where brachycephalic dogs are not walked for their full time, a visit will be provided for the rest of the time whereby the dogs will be played with in their own homes.
3) When the temperature is above 24 degrees Celsius, no brachycephalic dogs will be walked under any circumstances.
4) Where no walk is taking place a 30 minute visit will be provided whereby the dogs will be let out into their garden for a toilet break, or taken to a grassy area for toileting if no garden, and playtime.
5) When the temperature is over 25 degrees Celsius, all dogs will be walked prior to 11am in a shaded/wooded area and/or where there is a running water source.
6) Where it is not possible or practicable for your dog to be walked prior to 11am, a 30 minute visit will be provided whereby the dogs will be let into the garden or taken to a nearby grassy area for a toilet break and playtime.
7) No dogs will be walked after 11am under any circumstance except for toileting.
8) During times where there is heavy snowfall, a risk assessment will be conducted and decisions will be made on a case by case basis.
9) Any time there is snow and dog walks cannot be conducted, a 30 minute visit will be conducted as per the hot weather circumstances.
10) If the roads are blocked and we cannot get to certain walks or visits, owners will be contacted as soon as possible and alternative arrangements or cancellation made. In this rare circumstance no cancellation policy will be enforced.
11) Where walks are shortened or substituted for a visit, the original price of the walk will still be applicable. For example, if you pay £10 for an hours group walk but your dog received a 30 minute visit, the original £10 will still be payable.
12) This policy is final and will not be altered or changed on a dog-by-dog basis.
13) By signing the pre-service contract, owners have agreed to this policy for the duration of services provided by Rose Garden Dog Walking.
